The fifth annual Cazenovia Country Trail Run will be held next Thursday, Sept. 1, on the school’s Fenner Road cross county course. Sponsored by the Cazenovia girls and boys cross country teams, the race is open to participants of all ages and abilities.
The men’s race will kick off at 6 p.m., followed by the women’s race at 6:45 p.m.. The entry fee is only $10 to participate. A limited number of T-shirts for those who did not pre-order will be available for an added cost of $6. Proceeds from the race will be used to help support the cross country program.
Entry forms may be obtained via the school website athletics page at cazenoviacsd.com/athletics/team-notes/cazenovia-x-c-trail-run-information, or from the high school office or any cross country athlete.
The race will be conducted on the Lakers’ scenic 4,800-meter course traversing woods, fields and small streams in the Fenner countryside. Free parking and restroom facilities will be available near the start line at the school’s Fenner Road Sean Googin Athletic Complex.
Entry forms may be mailed to Coach Wheeler c/o Cazenovia High School, 31 Emory Ave, Cazenovia, NY 13035 by August 26 or brought to the site for race day registration. Participants may sign up on Sept. 1 near the start line, which is adjacent to the baseball field, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
