Cazenovia Masonic Lodge 616 will feature Marine Corps history and current operations at its event at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at the lodge. Local Marine reservist Colonel Kurt Wheeler will be the guest speaker.
Wheeler, formerly the Officer in Charge of the Marine Corps History Division’s Field History Detachment at Marine Corps University, Quantico, Va., was recently assigned to the Marine Corps Office of Legislative Affairs in the Pentagon.
In honor of the Marine Corps’ 242nd birthday, which will be officially celebrated one week after the event, the talk will feature the heritage of the Marine Corps as well as how the Corps is changing to face current and future threats to the United States around the world.
The event is open to the public with Marines and other service veterans especially invited. The lodge is located at 2836 Route 20 East between Cazenovia and Nelson.
