Sensory story times, stamp collecting workshop coming this month
The Cazenovia Public Library has announced it will host sensory story times for children throughout the month of October, as well as a stamp collecting for kids workshop on Oct. 9.
The Cazenovia Public Library invites children and their families to the Story Garden Room on Monday mornings this October for a special story time series. Sensory Story Time will be held from 9:15 to 10 a.m. on October 2, 9, 16 and 23.
This series is designed for children of all ages, including those with autism spectrum disorders, sensory integration issues and other developmental disabilities. While a lot like traditional story time, sensory story time places particular emphasis on repetition, interactive activities and sensory play.
Class size is limited to ensure program quality. Call or stop by the library to reserve a spot.
The stamp collecting for kids workshop offers kids of all ages the chance to discover the hobby of stamp collecting. Community member and stamp enthusiast Ralph D’Mello will present this hands-on workshop, during which children will have the opportunity to examine a variety of stamps from D’Mello’s extensive collection and learn tips for starting collections of their own. At the end of the workshop, participants will be provided several stamps to take home.
The event will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, in the library’s community room.
Class size is limited to ensure program quality. Call or stop by the library to reserve a spot.
All events at the Cazenovia Public Library are free and open to the public. For more information, call 315-655-9322 or visit cazenoviapubliclibrary.org.
