Beaver Lake Nature Center invites visitors to witness this year’s Spotted Salamander migration during a mid-March evening. A naturalist-guided walk beginning at 6:30 p.m. will introduce participants to the natural history of these amphibians and the chance to meet a migrating salamander or two en route. Predictability is not always possible in nature so participants interested in this evening of discovery should contact the Nature Center to be notified of the actual date of the walk. The Nature Center will give participants at least a 24-hour notice. The program fee is $2 per person and pre-registration is required.
Beaver Lake Nature Center, an Onondaga County Park, is located at 8477 East Mud Lake Road, 3 miles west of Baldwinsville off Route 370. Admission is $5 per vehicle. For more information, call the Nature Center at 315-638-2519 or visit OnondagaCountyParks.com.
