CENTRAL NEW YORK – In its second meet of the regular season, the Jamesville-DeWitt/Fayetteville-Manlius gymnastics team got a superb performance from Mia Arvidson.
Winning three of four apparatus, Arvidson pushed J-D/F-M past Utica Proctor 141.35-111.85 last Monday night, highlighted by a balance beam routine that scored 9.50.
Adding a 9.35 on floor exercise, an 8.7 on uneven bars and a winning vault of 8.2, Arvidson finished with an all-around score of 35.75 to edge the 35.4 from teammate Antoinette Sakellariou.
It was Sakellariou winning the uneven bars with 9.0, adding a 9.1 on the beam and 8.1 vault. Morgan Devine scored 9.2 for second place on the beam and 9.3 on the floor for third behind Devine and Proctor’s Ellianna Curley, who scored 9.4.
East Syracuse Minoa/Liverpool had its own meet last Tuesday against New Hartford, unable to keep up with that other group of Spartans in a 135.95-115.5 defeat.
