Baldwinsville girls lacrosse pulls away from Shenendehowa

Bees remain unbeaten ahead of busy league stretch

BALDWINSVILLE – A crowded early schedule for the Baldwinsville girls lacrosse team meant that it didn’t have any games early last week affected by the mid-April snowstorm.

Instead, the Bees could rest and practice and get ready to defend its undefeated mark when Section II’s Shenendehowa visited Pelcher-Arcaro Stadium last Friday night.

Like it did against Marcellus earlier in the month, B’ville kept things close for a while, only leading 7-4 early in the second half, but then it went on a 6-1 run the rest of the way to put away the Plainsmen 13-5.

By herself, Carlie Desimone, scoring five goals, matched the entire Shen lineup, while Grace Hollenbeck chimed in with a three-goal hat trick.

Sophia Muscolino got two goals and one assist, with Brianna Peters also scoring twice. Mia Pozzi added a goal as she combined with Peters and Sophia Ianno to earn 15 draw controls. Sam Tanguay and Ava Graham had seven total saves.

Action would pick up this week with a Tuesday visit to Liverpool and Thursday’s battle with Cicero-North Syracuse (whom it beat 12-5 earlier this month) before a Saturday clash against Section V power Pittsford.
