SYRACUSE – Back from its holiday break, the Cazenovia boys indoor track and field team made a strong showing during the afternoon session of last Saturday’s John Arcaro Memorial Invitational at SRC Arena.
Picking up 58 points, the Lakers were just 1.5 points behind third-place West Genesee (59.5) as Baldwinsville (98.5) and East Syracuse Minoa (79) claimed the top two spots.
Cassidy Gilmore rose to second place in the 1,000-meter run, his time of 2:43.33 only trailing the 2:41.76 from West Genesee’s Peter McMahon, while Killian Blouin cleared 8 feet 6 inches in the pole vault, second to the 12’6” from Central Square’s Brett Fehrman.
Dan Millson rose to third place in the triple jump with a best attempt of 36 feet 1 ½ inches, while Wyat Scott was sixth with 32’11 ¼”. Millson also was sixth in the 600-meter run in 1:35.83 and sixth in the long jump by going 17’2 ½”.
In the 4×400 relay, the Lakers had Andrew Lee, Killian Blouin, Wyatt Scott and Carter Ruddy get to third place in a clocking of 4:09.75.
Jed Olkowski had a fifth-place shot put toss of 35’6 ½”, with Andrew Falso 13th as Olkowski was 12th and Elijah Clement 13th in the weight throw.
Dylan Shephard, in 9.64 seconds, beat out Connor Frisbie (9.71) for sixth place in the 55-meter hurdles, with Eddie Comeau sixth in the 1,600-meter run in 5:19.49 and Frisbie sixth in the high jump by clearing 5’3”.
Brandon McColm was sixth in the 3,200-meter run in 11:50.94. J.P. Hoak finished ninth in the 300-meter dash in 40.57 seconds and 10th in the 55-meter dash in 7.14 seconds as the Lakers were eighth in the 4×200 relay in 1:55.80.
Chittenango took part in the morning session of the Arcaro meet where Caleb LeBlanc, the boys 1,000, went 2:41.63 to beat out Fayetteville-Manlius star Will Seamans, second in 2:42.77.
LeBlanc, Shamus Eiffe, Robert Pierce and Joseph Lin were fourth in the 4×200 in 1:45.09 as the Bears also were sixth in the 4×400 in 4:54.20.
On the girls side for Chittenango, Laura Powers got sixth place in the 1,500-meter run in 5:37.96, with Margaret Bielicki 10th. Miranda Danaher had a seventh-place shot put toss of 24’3 ½”.
Allie Bartoszek was seventh in the girls 55 hurdles in 10.53 seconds and helped Evelyn Keville, Madison Rotter and Mackenzie Byrne finish fourth in the 4×800 in 13:35.50. The Bears were also sixth in the 4×200 in 2:03.09 and seventh in the 4×400 in 4:45.97.
