CAZENOVIA – Though Cazenovia High School senior Morgan Kingsley is part of the Fayetteville-Manlius girls swim team, her home meets take place closer to where the Lakers reside.
So that added extra emotion to Kinsgley’s Senior Night at Cazenovia College, where the Hornets took on Cicero-North Syracuse.
All that Kingsley did was help the Hornets quality for two state championship events in relay events while helping F-M extend its remarkable win streak to 56 consecutive meets, topping the Northstars 94-84.
Swimming in the 200-yard freestyle relay, three seniors – Kingsley, Emma Luttrell and Hali Sediberg – were joined by sophomore Georgia Langan to win in one minutes, 41.40 seconds, not just advancing to the state meet, but posting the third-fastest time in New York State in that event.
Moving to the 400 freestyle relay, it will take 3:42.73 to earn a state meet berth, and the Hornets finished in 3:45.73. And in the 200 medley relay, Kingsley, Sediberg, Luttrell and Langan got a time of 1:53.86.
Individually, Kingsley has, this season, put up the fastest time in the section in the 100 breaststroke, her 1:09.95 the only one under 1:10.
