CENTRAL NEW YORK – Ultimately, no one would get close to upending the Skaneateles girls lacrosse team in the 2021 regular season.
The Lakers’ perfect run of 12 victories in 12 games would include back-to-back wins over two of its neighbors before Memorial Day weekend.
Against rival Marcellus on May 28, Skaneateles toyed with the Mustangs, controlling all phases of the game and eventually rolling to a 16-5 victory.
Again, the Lakers’ scoring balance was impressive. Julia O’Connor and Bella Brogan both got three goals and one assist, with Maggie Newton scoring twice and getting three assists.

Westhill returned to action last Tuesday and, in its regular-season finale, pummeled Chittenango, the Warriors getting a 14-1 lead by halftime on the way to bashing the Bears 17-4.
