BALDWINSVILLE – As far as early-season statements go, what the Baldwinsville boys track and field team did against Fayetteville-Manlius last Wednesday at Pelcher-Arcaro Stadium proved quite loud.
Ignoring the chilly, damp conditions, the Bees displayed its depth and swept the field events and sprints on the way to defeating the Hornets by a score of 102-37.
Six different B’ville athletes won those field events, including Owen Weaver, who unleashed a top long jump of 19 feet 10 inches as Aiden Micho flew 37’9 1/2” in the triple jump.
Ryan Wilson cleared 5’2” in the high jump and Solomon Holden-Betts topped 8 feet in the pole vault, with David Dobrowolski throwing the discus 94’5” and Dylan Barber recording a top shot put of 36’10”.
Connor Waldron led B’ville’s runners, taking the 200-meter dash in 23.9 seconds and the 400-meter dash in 53.56 seconds while also helping Weaver, Logan Hayes and Colin Delaney go 3:44.7 in the 4×400 relay.
Brandon Levin beat the field in the 100-meter dash in 12.2 seconds, with Tom Bernardin taking the 110 high hurdles in 19.31 seconds. Levin, Kaleb Paul, Robert Thompson and Anthony Noda sped to a time of 48.56 seconds in the 4×100 relay.
