After they faced each other on Oct. 12, the Fayetteville-Manlius and East Syracuse Minoa field hockey teams would have plenty more game action before a Nov. 2 rematch.
The Hornets, who won that initial meeting with the Spartans 1-0, would drop a 2-1 decision to Cicero-North Syracuse last Monday night on F-M’s home turf.

Though shut out in the second half, C-NS did a solid job possessing the ball, which limited what the Hornets could do. In defeat, Claire Grenis finished with five saves.
F-M took on Weedsport Friday night and, basking in one more burst of warm weather, put up its best offensive totals of the season in shutting out the Warriors 5-0.
Leading the charge, Lucy Fowler scored twice, adding an assist. Duggleby had one goal and one assist, with Wilson and Katelyn Abbel getting the other goals and Carine Smith adding an assist.
In its only game last week, ESM put together its best result of the season when it hosted Auburn and, ignoring the rain, handled the Maroons 3-0 A pair of first-half goals set the tone, and the Spartans spread the credit around.
Three different players – Helaina Scolaro, Olivia Grabowski and Reiley Murphy – earned the goals, with assists going to Rileigh White, Abby Herrington, Julianna Riccio and Jenna Orlando.
ESM would have its own game against Weedsport Monday before a trip to Baldwinsville and a Friday rematch with Auburn at Holland Stadium. F-M faced Liverpool Monday and Whitesboro on Thursday night.
