A large group of Marcellus High School seniors in a wide variety of sports have announced where they will be attending college in the fall.
It started in girls soccer, where Macie Szalach has chosen to attend Wagner College on Staten Island, while Ellie Shaw is on her way north to St. Lawrence University.
Two standouts on the Marcellus softball team are college-bound, too, with Ellie Mahoney going to SUNY-Oswego as teammate Evelyn Webster has decided on attending SUNY-Fredonia.
The boys and girls lacrosse Mustangs have college-bound seniors, too, as Luke Ingianni signed to attend Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania, and Laura Canny is on her way to Thomas Jefferson University, across the state in Philadelphia.
Grace Femano, a swimming standout who competed with the Skaneateles girls team in recent years, is going to Wingate University in North Carolina, while tennis star Megan Mitchell has decided on Nazareth College in Rochester.
Finally, Kyle Brown, a star lineman on the Marcellus football team in recent years, will continue to wear green as he has signed to attend Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, the “Big Green” of the Ivy League.
Two West Genesee basketball alums recently announced college decisions of their own. Lucas Sutherland, a star on the 2019 state Class AA championship team, is transferring from Siena College to Bryant University.
Also, former Wildcats star Malik Zachery, after two years at Chipola Junior College in Florida, announced that he is going to the University at Buffalo, bypassing other schools that included California, Mississippi, along with offers from Nebraska and Fresno State.
