Taylor Fishkin approached perfection for the Jamesville-DeWitt/Fayetteville-Manlius girls gymnastics team during last Wednesday night’s 138.0-129.7 victory over Baldwinsville.
Fishkin, competing in the balance beam, put together a 9.6 routine, the best score of any individual on any apparatus during this meet, while her sister, Rylee Fishkin, had a 9.3 and Rachel Wells scored 9.1.
In the all-around standings, Taylor Fishkin scored 35.4 and Rylee Fishkin 35.0, with Taylor scoring 9.1 and Rylee 8.8 on floor exercise as Rylee tied B’vlile’s Madison Brooks on the uneven bars, each posting 8.7. Wells had an all-around score of 31.6.
Two days later, taking on Rome Free Academy, J-D/F-M was dominant, prevailing 141.65-101.2 over the Black Knights as, on that same night, East Syracuse Minoa/Liverpool took on Central Square and beat the Redhawks 132.6-120.5.
Ashlyn Fuller led ESM/Liverpool with 35.6 in the all-around, earned mostly through wins on the vault, where scored 9.4, and the beam, where she put together a 9.2 routine. She also was second on the floor with an 8.7 behind the 9.0 from Central Square’s Sage Wolfe.
Delaney Calabria finished third in the all-around with 30.7 as Delia Korszeniewski scored 8.7 on the vault, 8.6 on the beam and 8.0 on uneven bars. Devin Myers had 8.5 on the vault and 7.4 on uneven bars as Madeliene Crooke scored 8.2 on the floor.
