Just before August ended, the Christian Brothers Academy girls tennis team played its neighbors from Manlius-Pebble Hill and earned every point in a 7-0 sweep of the Trojans.
Gieselle Vlassis, handling Parmees Fazeli 6-1, 6-0 in first singles, got it rolling for the Brothers. One singles match was forfeited to Calista Albring, but Grace Glowaki played and got past Genevieve Morrow 6-3, 6-3.
Three different CBA doubles teams – Grace Coyne-Grace DelPino, Grace Catalano-Aubrey Mills and Annie Kilmartin-Maddie Tallman – did not drop a game in any of their six sets. Mary Kilmartin and Isabella Mead won, 6-1, 6-1, over Emma Gross and Grace Zhang.

Yet another 7-0 win came on Friday, J-D ripping past Oswego without surrendering a set.
Gajra had the biggest test in singles, yet beat Abbey Yurkon 6-3, 6-2 as Frison DeAngelis and Jones got through the toughest of the doubles matches, handling Abigail McPherson and Mattie Wallace 6-4, 6-1.
East Syracuse Minoa broke through in its own way on Aug. 31 when it beat Central Square 5-2, sweeping all four of the doubles matches from the Redhawks.

It proved even more lopsided when Christine Andrews and Erin Houghtaling handled Lauren Foland and Katilyn Meigel 6-2, 6-3, with Shaina Brilbeck and MaryLouise Pontius handling Megan Goodwin and Maddie Notaro 6-1, 6-1.
Moving to singles play, Julia Barnwell lost in straight sets and Alexis Stone fell to Victoria Tyrrell 6-2, 1-6, 6-2, but Alyssa Woodruff snared another ESM point when she defeated Claudia Boyko 6-2, 7-6.
In last Tuesday’s 7-0 defeat to Auburn, ESM could not earn a set in any of the seven matches. In doubles, Christine Andrews and Julie Barnwell battled in a 6-3, 6-4 loss to Erin Calkins and Daisy Townsend, while Caitiln Abbott and Ann Bradley lost, 6-4, 6-1, to Katie Donovan and Nikolette Gray.
