With the Section III championships approaching, it only figured that Baldwinsville’s bowling teams would have back-to-back matches at Strike-N-Spare Lanes in Mattydale, which again serves as the sectional championship venue.
Against Cicero-North Syracuse last Tuesday afternoon, the Bees got involved in a high-scoring boys match and nearly pulled it out, but still fell to the Northstars 2-1.
B’ville had its own strong efforts, including Garrett Roziock’s 649 series (233 high game) and a 603 series from Jarod Napiorkowski, whose high game was 217. Tanner Rozycko (571 series) and Dylan Williams (536 series) were close behind.
Nick Bough, helped by a 248 game, finished with a 667 series to pace C-NS. Josh Cloute got a three-game total of 629, one pin better than Tim Cloonan’s 628, though Cloonan had a 229 high game to Cloute’s 227. Josh Aicher managed a 605 series and Zach Emm added a 551 set.
B’ville lost, 3-0, to C-NS in the girls match, despite Brooke Flask putting together a 620 series, one of her top efforts of the winter. Hannah Pinard, with a 474 series, was just ahead of Taylor Savage’s 470 series as Jenna Hierholzer got a 380 set. Kaitlin Antineli led the Northstars with a 609 series and high game of 236.
To cap the week, B’ville had another match against Liverpool on Friday. The boys Bees got half a point from the Warriors in a 2.5-0.5 loss as Jarrod Williams shot a 609 series and high game of 246, while Dylan Williams got a 515 series. Liverpool’s Austin Dearborn shot a 277 game at B’ville Sports Bowl on his way to a 632 set.
The girls Bees lost, 3-0, to the Warriors, who stayed undefeated despite Flask shooting a 524 series and 208 high game, with Pinard (451 series) and Savage (441 series) close behind. For Liverpool, Dailyn McCarthy led with a 573 series and 227 high game, with Danielle Maher adding a 537 set.
Before all this, the B’ville girls faced Syracuse City on Jan. 13 at Strike-N-Spare and won 3-0. Savage was sensational, shooting a season-best 254 game on her way to a 597 series. Flask bowled well, too, as a 203 game led to a 551 set and Pinard had a three-game total of 490.
