Before heading off to their respective Section III playoffs early this week, each of the Skaneateles golf teams would finish up regular-season business and find varying degrees of success.
For the girls Lakers, it meant competing in the Onondaga High School League tournament last Wednesday at Woodcrest Golf Club, where it threatened for the team title, shooting 419, tying Marcellus for second place, just two shots behind Christian Brothers Academy’s winning total of 417.
Jenna Fields had the best individual finish for Skaneteles, shooting an 18-hole score of 102 to tie three others – Maleigha Ellithorpe (Cazenovia), Liz Kip (CBA) and Lydia Tryon (Oswego) – for eighth place. Marcellus’ Mary Colella won the individual title with an 85, six shots ahead of CBA’s Megan McKeen.
Just behind them, Breanna Sisson posted a 103 and finished alone in 12th place. Jill Barker got a 105 and shared 15th place with Oswego’s Olivia Dowdle, while Addison Gremli earned a 109 and Karah Blair finished with a 109.
Before that, Skaneateles routed Cazenovia 207-240 last Tuesday afternoon at Skaneateles Country Club. Barker finished with a 49, while Gremli contributed a 51.
