Get crafty with take-home kits at Salina Library

By Jeannine Chubon

Looking for something to do this month? Salina Library offers free monthly kits for a variety of ages! For some crafts you’ll need glue or scissors; otherwise, everything you’ll need for the craft is in the bag. Call the library at 315-454-4524 to set up a curbside pickup or in-library appointment and reserve a kit.

Kids & Teens Friday Crafternoon Kit

November’s craft kit is a Turkey Corner Bookmark. Join Miss Monica in a virtual Crafternoon program at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14. Have fun and follow along as she demonstrates how to put the craft together. Sign up for the Zoom session at onlibsalina.evanced.info/signup. These crafts are best for kids and teens ages 6 and up.

Adult Craft Kit

A new craft is offered on the third Monday of every month for adults 18 and older. Many types of crafting techniques are used, but each comes with step-by-step instructions and photos. Available now: the velvet pumpkin craft kit.

Craft Kit for Adults with Special Needs

This kit can be completed with a friend or family member. It’s released on the fourth Monday of each month and is available for a month or while supplies last.

Crochet Kit

The crochet kits are for intermediate crocheters. Each kit contains a pattern and the yarn needed to complete the project; you’ll need to have the hook. Crochet kits are released on the first Monday of each month. Need help with your project? Email Janet at ASRP@salinalibrary.org with any questions.

Salina Library is located at 100 Belmont St. in Mattydale and is open for Express Service and Curbside Pickup. To make an appointment, visit salinalibrary.org. For more information, call us at 315-454-4524.
