Folks can prepare for Veterans Day with In Recognition of Our Veterans the day prior at the Liverpool Public Library.
The Carman Community Room will be open from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10. Veterans, their family and friends, and members of the community are encouraged to attend the tribute to all who have served.
There will be a screening of the Liverpool Legends video “Veterans of Post 188,” followed by a reception with light snacks and beverages. Veterans can bring memorabilia, and are encouraged to share stories and memories of their experiences.
There also will be a collection point for the Gregory J. Harris Military Courtesy Room. That’s the space set aside at Hancock International Airport in Syracuse to serve military personnel. The room is stocked entirely by donations. The biggest needs this year are Mountain Dew, Slim Jims and other beef jerky and Rice Krispie Treats.

Cardholders at the LPL recently were given free access to the military-themed ancestry and genealogy-based research site Fold3. The link for the service is fold3.com.
LPL cardholders who are veterans or active military personnel and present proper ID at check-out always have their overdue fines waived.
