The 21st Annual Jamesville Chamber of Commerce “Light Up Jamesville” will take place on Saturday, Dec. 3, at Jamesville Town Square Plaza on East Seneca Turnpike.
The fun begins with Santa arriving by fire truck to the Old Fire House at 5:30 p.m. He will be there to greet the kids until 7 p.m. when he will travel down to the train station in Towne Square where he will assist with the tree lighting and will pull the tickets for the raffle.
The Jamesville Fire Department Auxillary will join Santa at the Old Fire House with their “Children’s Holiday Bazaar.”
The local M&T Bank will once again be having crafts and activities for kids, as well as offering refreshments before 7 p.m.
The Half Moon Bakery & Bistro will be offering one sugar cookie to each child that they can decorate themselves during the festivities. Owner Debbie Titus will be offering a “Hot Chocolate Bar” with all kinds of toppings and stir-ins when a hot chocolate beverage is purchased.
Stop by Jamesville Carpet/Gramma Moose & Bears for a complementary box of popcorn served up fresh by Grandma Moose. Once a, “Helping Hounds Dog Rescue” from DeWitt will be on hand with friendly pups and will have information about their program. Treats and toys will be collected for the rescued pups.
Stop by the train station to check out the huge raffle sponsored by the chamber of commerce. Tickets will be on sale for $1 each that will be entered to win the many prizes donated by local businesses. The drawing will be held at 7 p.m. with Santa himself doing the pulling. The winner of the first ticket drawn will choose from any of the prizes on the table. Then the next ticket drawn will choose from remaining prizes and so on. This is the main fundraiser for the Chamber.
The Jamesville Community Museum will be hosting an open house from 6 to 7 p.m. Kids can visit with Mrs. Santa and also enjoy the Children’s Corner Activities. The museum will close at 7 p.m. for the tree lighting and chamber raffle but will reopen after to conduct its own holiday raffle of the quilt that’s been on display at the local M&T Bank.
