The 11th annual Fayetteville Festival will return to Beard Park in Fayetteville at noon on Saturday Sept. 17, and will include a full day of family-friendly activities for residents of the area.
The festival was started in 2006 as a way to bring the community and local organizations together, said Deputy Village Clerk Karen Shepardson, who works on putting the event together each year. The day is filled with kid’s activities, raffles, games, food, live music and ends with a fireworks display.
The schedule of events includes:
∙Noon to 5 p.m. community organizations will host a table to give out information.
∙1 p.m. Blessing of the Animals.
∙2 to 5 p.m. Jason the Entertainer performs.
∙5 p.m. performance by Party Nuts.
∙6:30 p.m. performance by the Maria DeSantis Band.
∙Fireworks at dusk.
New this year will be a food truck fair, which will run all day as a way to allow attendees to purchase a variety of food throughout the day.
Some organizations that will be present at the event include: Boy Scout Troop 152, Clear Path for Veterans, Friends in Service Here (F.I.S.H), Girl Scout troops, the East Area YMCA, Fayetteville-Manlius Crew, the Fayetteville Fire Department, the Manlius Historical Society, Town of Manlius Police Department, the Greater Manlius Chamber of Commerce, the Fayetteville Senior Center, F-M Community Outreach and Food Pantry, among many others.
“[It’s] a way to showcase the many non-profit and civic groups that support our local community, so both residents and the organizations can meet and learn,” Shepardson said.
Sponsors for the event include Empower Federal Credit Union, Fred Astaire Dance Studio, Kinsella Quarries, Creative Environment Day School, Allied Sign Company, Geddes Federal Savings and Landscapes East Inc.
