Those who enjoy Dunkin’ Donuts food and drinks will soon have the chance to get their fix at a new location in Fayetteville, which is planned to open next month.
The new location will be at 501 E. Genesee St., in the former Friendly’s Restaurant building that closed down in 2013.
At the Sept. 29 meeting of the Fayetteville Village Board, Mayor Mark Olson, giving an update of the project, said construction had started and the developer plans to have the store open by mid-November.
The project was first brought to the village board in February 2015, and the site plan was approved by the Fayetteville Planning Board on June 1. There will be no drive thru at this location and no zone change was needed for the project, according to planning board records.
Development of the previous Friendly’s property was an item on a Top 10 list of goals for the village, which was presented by Mayor Mark Olson at the board of trustee’s Jan. 12 meeting.
Currently, signage at the Manlius Dunkin’ Donuts on Fayette Street indicates the Manlius store is taking applications for the soon-to-be-opened Fayetteville location.
