St. James children prepare annual Christmas play

Before many of us started decking the halls and jingling bells, some of the children at St. James Church began working on their annual Christmas Play. This year’s production, “The Christmas Carol Special Report,” created by Rhonda Frazier, Luke Gambill, and Brian Green, was adapted by Joan Stoker.

The play explores Christmas traditions from around the world, in the style of a news program.  Along with “reports” from around the world the audience can enjoy familiar and new carols sung by “The Christmas Choir.” All of the actors, singers and dancers are in grades 1 through 6, from the Cazenovia community.

The performance will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17 in the Sanctuary of St. James Church, 6 Green St. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the show! Embracing the spirit of giving and helping those less fortunate this holiday season, admission is any monetary donation, all of which will be given to Joseph’s House in Syracuse.

The Joseph’s House provides a safe home and family environment for moms and babies who find themselves homeless due to a wide variety of circumstances.
