The 2017 Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign is recruiting student volunteers to bell ring this holiday season. Cazenovia High School students can sign up during lunch periods outside the school cafeteria on Wednesday, Nov. 8 and Thursday Nov. 9, and the following Wednesday, Nov. 15 through Friday, Nov. 17.
The student volunteers will receive community credit for the number of hours they spend bell ringing for the campaign. Bell ringers will be stationed at Kinney Drugs and Tops Friendly Markets beginning Monday, Nov. 20, and continuing through Christmas Eve.
The 2017 Salvation Army Class Ambassadors are Tim Burr (senior), Abby Burrell (junior), Jonathan Benn (sophomore) and Nina Royer (freshman). The Ambassadors are responsible for launching and overseeing the volunteer program this holiday season.
Participation is highly encouraged as 90 percent of the funds raised in Cazenovia will stay in the community to benefit the area residents. In partnership with CazCares, the donations collected will be distributed to programs that assist those in need.
