Have you ever finished a great book and wanted to find more just like it? Or wanted to help your child find just the right book to read? The Northern Onondaga Public Library (NOPL) now offers NoveList Plus, a helpful resource to help match up readers with the books that are right for them.
One of the most popular elements of NoveList Plus is read-alikes. This feature suggests titles that are “just like” other titles, authors and series that you already know and love. Lists of recommended reads and award-winning books are also available, covering both fiction and nonfiction titles for all ages from the youngest readers to adults.
With NoveList Plus, parents, teachers, and students can search by age, reading level, grade and more. There is also extra content like reviews (both professional reviews and reader reviews), book discussion guides, curriculum guides and other book-oriented articles. Book groups and teachers find these resources especially helpful.
Audiobook recommendations are a recent addition to NoveList Plus. When you want to find the perfect listening experience — whether that means short, long, for the whole family, a specific narrator — this service will help you find lots of suggestions.
Some of the features of NoveList Plus have been incorporated directly into the library’s catalog to enhance your browsing experience. Now, when you open the record for a book or audiobook and scroll down, you will find reading suggestions that include other books in the same series, other books by that author, similar authors and more.
To enjoy all of the features of NoveList Plus, access it directly on nopl.org. Have your library card and PIN handy and navigate to the ‘Online Branch’ in the menu and click on “Online Research” in the dropdown.
