As Lorenzo gears up to open for the 2016 visitor season in mid-May, the exhibition “Dinner is Served! Exploring the Culinary Arts at Lorenzo” will be featured. With support from the Friends of Lorenzo, a variety of programs are being offered throughout the year in conjunction with this special exhibit on dining and viticultural customs.
The first offering, “A Sense of Wine and Place: The Finger Lakes and Beyond,” by Brandon Seager, chair of the wine marketing program at Tompkins Cortland Community College, will take place at 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 9. In the Cazenovia Public Library community room.
A former cellar master, assistant winemaker and winemaker, Seager espouses the belief that it is easier to understand wine in the context of its origin. In that spirit, he will share some of his wine-hopping experience across the globe, discuss the extraordinary aspects of Finger Lakes wines and highlight the “Farm-to-Bistro” movement that TC3 is helping to lead in the middle of what Seager refers to as the “gustatory bounty” of New York state.
The public is invited to attend this free presentation; an informal reception will follow.
