To the editor:
The Salvation Army would like to thank the Cazenovia community and all the wonderful volunteers who “rang the bells” this past holiday season.
A shout out to the Perryville Cub Scout Pack 107, the Facebook moms and their entertaining children and, of course, the many Caz High School students: All gave up hours of their time to raise a grand total of $5430.10.
The 100-plus Bellringers surely appreciated the warm and sheltered locations provided by our very own local Kinneys and Tops Friendly Market — we could not have done it without them.
A big thank you to AmeriCU Credit Union for donating their services to complete the deposits and collection records. AmeriCU helps considerably in streamlining this enormous project.
Talking dollars and cents, let it be known, that 90 percent of the money raised during the campaign stays in our community, including the purchasing of the turkeys for the CazCares Family Holiday Program.
Lastly, our High School Class Ambassadors, Nina Royer, Jonathan Benn, Abby Burrell and Tim Burr also deserve a huge round of applause for doing a top-notch job managing the six-week program.
With that said, the success of the campaign belongs to all of you, who stopped and dropped U.S. currency (and some Canadian) in the hanging red kettles as you passed by. Thank you.
