To the editor:
Each year at this time, high school juniors look forward to their year-end, black-tie event, which has been an age-old tradition in the U.S. More recently, parents and teachers, concerned about the safety of teens wishing to extend the evening, have begun a new tradition, the After Prom Party.
In Cazenovia, the entire community lends its support for this event. The after party is designed to provide a fun-filled evening in a chaperoned, drug-and-alcohol-free environment with prizes galore. This year’s Junior After Prom Party was no exception. The events were happily received, well attended and greatly supported with contributions of time, money, food and prizes.
Very special thanks go to the Cazenovia Parent Teacher Student Association, The American Legion and our DJ, Sue O’Dell. Heartfelt thanks are in order to the many dedicated parents and the generous donations of the following local businesses: Caz Cans, Caz Pizza, Cazenovia Athletic Department, Cazenovia Jewelry, Cazenovia PTSA, Cazenovia United Educators, Dr. Peter Fauth DMD, First Presbyterian Church, Gabrielle Chocolates, Gene Gissin Photography, Latte Da!, Loomis Maple Homestead, Nice N Easy Grocery Shops of Clay, Owegena Pizza, Romano Car Dealerships, The Key, Tops of Cazenovia and Wegmans of DeWitt.
It’s great to live in a community that so generously supports its students!
