To the editor:
Fayetteville-Manlius residents have an outstanding candidate for school board this spring: Rebecca Cohen.
Throughout my career in education, working with districts as a teacher, instructional leader and consultant, I’ve seen firsthand the impact of thoughtful advocacy in school systems — Rebecca will bring this in spades to the F-M school board.
She is deeply invested in the F-M school system, both as an F-M graduate and as a mother to three young children. She is wholly committed to delivering the highest-quality education to all learners in the community, and she has the skill set and experience to ensure that F-M continues to excel.
As an attorney, Rebecca will bring to the board an astute attention to detail, a thorough understanding of budget and contract complexity, and policy expertise — all capabilities that are critical to strong and successful board leadership.
Moreover, as a certified mediator, Rebecca will make an immediate impact on the board by listening to and collaborating with community stakeholders to develop meaningful district policies.
Rebecca has been a friend since we attended F-M together, and I am continually awed and inspired by her accomplishments, passion, and perspective. I am confident that she will work tirelessly to ensure that all students have a best-in-class education.
