LIVERPOOL — If you’re a cardholder with the Liverpool Public Library, you’re likely to start receiving email newsletters filled with information to help you get the most out of our library. These emails will contain information about when our Program Guide is published, as well as details about upcoming programs, events, new materials and services.
We’re starting our voyage with a communications service that’s popular in the library world, Savannah by OrangeBoy, and we think you’re going to like what you see.
Is your email up to date on your library account? You need to have a current email address in your library account to make the email conversation work.
If you’re currently receiving email notifications about borrowed materials or holds notifications which typically come from the email [email protected], you’re good and don’t need to take any action.
If you’re not getting email notifications, would like to update your current email, or you’re wondering if the email you initially provided is current, here’s advice on steps to take:
“Patrons can log in to their account online themselves with their barcode number and PIN to update their contact information, including email address,” LPL Circulation Coordinator Andrea Rasmussen said. “Or they can come to the library with photo ID and we will update their email address for them.”
To update the email address for your library account, you can go to lpl.org and click MY ACCOUNT at the top right, or visit catalog.onlib.org/polaris/logon.aspx. Once you’re logged in, from the main login page, select “Contact Information and Preferences.” Here you can update your email, notification preferences and more. “When patrons have forgotten their PIN and are unable to log in to their account online, they can have a temporary PIN sent to them – by email! This is another benefit when keeping their email address up to date. It is also the reason why we change email only in person with photo ID, never by phone, is because email is the conduit for changing the PIN,” Rasmussen said.
