LIVERPOOL — If the holidays and creating tasty desserts go hand-in-hand for you, this could be a great time to check out the Liverpool Public Library’s December edition of the monthly What’s Cookin’ event.
At 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, Holiday Desserts will be the theme as community culinary creators are invited to come to Studio @ LPL or attend via Zoom to show and talk about what they’ve made with LPL facilitators Cindy Hibbert and Liz Siegel.
The focus of the event in Studio @ LPL and on Zoom is to show off dishes and discuss recipes and the cooking process, Hibbert says. Because of COVID-19, no food is eaten during What’s Cookin’.
“It’s a social program,” Hibbert said. “Patrons sit and share ideas and suggestions about what they made, talk about any issues that they may have encountered with the recipe or the cooking process: ‘Try this. Try that.’”
The hybrid events allow patrons to sample more programs, Hibbert said.
“The hybrid events with Zoom are an easy way to attend, to try a (monthly) event to see if you want to come back,” she said.

Armchair Adventures
Hibbert has found success using the hybrid model with Armchair Adventures as well. The 1 p.m. Dec. 30 edition features Sarah Midgley-Scuderi talking about her recent trip to Iceland in the Carman Community Room and via Zoom.
