Come back into the Liverpool Public Library lobby.
There’s a whole new look awaiting.
The doors on Tulip and Second Streets and public elevator in the parking garage lead to a welcoming space that was transformed as part of the Liverpool Central School District’s Long Range Facilities Plan.
Visitors will notice a striking feature wall with a wooden bench built in. A large video screen to display messages about programs will be fit into the colorful motif. Other comfortable chairs encourage use for the public wi-fi or simply to read a book, magazine or newspaper.
The first pieces of art on the wall come from the Liverpool High School Annex’s Liverpool Poster Project, featuring exciting student mash-ups of photography and haiku.
And the newly renovated lobby public men’s and women’s restrooms are fully ADA-compliant.
The lobby serves as a comfortable bridge to the Mini Library in the Carman Community Room and familiar services in the Children’s Room as the LPL transformation continues. Its vibrancy is a sign of things to come as the renovation in the main room continues and the Children’s Room awaits.
