CAZENOVIA — Rae Western is an 8th grader at Cazenovia High School. She has been selected as the Cazenovia Lions Club Student of the Month for November 2021. Rae is the daughter of Arthur and Diandra Western of Cazenovia, NY.
Rae’s nomination, by Faculty Members Mary DiNapoli and Louise King reads as follows:
“In just a few short weeks, Rae Western has proven herself as an incredibly valuable and impactful member of our high school community. Numerous faculty and staff members have remarked on Rae’s kind and compassionate supportive “good deeds” towards her peers, as she consistently lends a hand to her fellow eighth graders in meaningful ways. Rae is the kind of student who is willing to help without any promise of reward or self-satisfaction, and we nominate her for Student of the Month to let her know that her thoughtfulness matters: whenever she reaches out to support a confused or alienated peer, she makes a lasting impression on that person and on our school community.
A dedicated student, Rae has shown a great aptitude for self-improvement, working tirelessly in English class to revise and improve her writing. Rae has shown grit and determination while also acting as a team member: she plays field hockey and softball and is an active archer as well. She is a bright presence in our high school, and we are lucky to have her acts of kindness unfolding each day.”
The Cazenovia Lions Club is proud to give the November Student of the Month award to Rae for her continued kindness helping others, her steadfast spirit of self-improvement and grit and determination on multiple athletic fields of competition.
