Denver Broncos punter Riley Dixon ’11 visited his alma mater, Christian Brothers Academy recently. Dixon spent some time with administrators, staff and students. Dixon, who was named to Pro Football Writers of America all-rookie team, booted 89 punts that averaged 45.7 yards. His long was 68 yards.
A graduate of Syracuse University, Dixon played 39 games for the Orange, making the team as a walk-on prior to the 2011 season. He earned a scholarship at the conclusion of the 2013 season. Dixon finished his career ranked third in team history in career punting average (42.6) and fifth in punts (218) and punting yards (9,291). He was one of 10 semifinalists for the Ray Guy Award (nation’s top punter).
Dixon was a seventh round selection (228 overall) in the 2016 draft by the Denver Broncos.
