West Genny students share science skills

West Genny students excel at science fair

On March 20, students from Camillus Middle, West Genesee Middle School and the high school competed in the Central New York Science and Engineering Fair sponsored by the MOST and Lockheed Martin.

Over 250 students participated this year and each student utilized their own school projects from science fairs held earlier in the year.

Awards were given at honors, high honors, and highest honors levels. In addition, there were special awards given by local businesses, professional societies, and educational organizations judged by a set of specified criteria.

Joanna Maressa from the high school received honors for her project.

Amanda Casolare, Kara Chawgo, Molly Coyne, Madeline LeFevre, Gabrielle Mitchell, Adrianna Mondello, Abigail Searle and  Rebecca Wituszynski from WGMS competed.

Coyne, LeFevre, Mondello, and Searle from WGMS received Honors. Coyne and Mondello also received the SU Earth Science and Geology Department award for Hyrdofracking-Safe or Not?

Casolare, Mitchell, and Wituszynski received High Honors.
