Elizabeth “Betty” Fox, 90, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022 at Primrose Retirement Community. She was born April 14, 1932, in Buffalo to the late Sadie (Curtin) and William McGinley.
Betty graduated from D’Youville University and worked as a registered nurse for several years. She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Batavia, N.Y., and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Daylight and a current member of St. Benedict Cathedral. Betty was also a member of Oak Meadow Country Club and the Kennel Club and was a volunteer for The Good Samaritan Home for 20 years. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was her family.
She is survived by her children, Beth Fox of Raleigh, NC, Edward Fox (Carol) of Charlotte, NC, Marilyn Mulderry of Albany, William Fox of Cazenovia, Margaret Bennett (Brian) of Orlando, FL, Suzanne Stephens of Ponte Vedra, FL, Mary Niehaus (Lou) of Cincinnati, OH, Katie Higgins of Cincinnati, OH, Jennifer Ziemer (Daniel) of Evansville, IN, Deborah Powers (Sean) of Albany, and Matthew Fox (Maggie) of Indianapolis, IN; 31 grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Eleanor Fox of Columbus, OH.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years in 2015, Edward J. Fox, M.D.; sister, Mary Byers; brother, William McGinley; grandson, Graham Fox; and sons-in-law, Brian Higgins and Patrick Niehaus.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022 at St. Benedict Cathedral, 1328 Lincoln Ave., Evansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. with Father Godfrey Mullen, OSB and Father Jason Gries officiating.
Burial will be at St. John Cemetery in Elberfeld, Indiana.
