Henry Holter McIntosh, 79, of Fayetteville, passed away at his home on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021. Henry was born on May 26, 1942, in Providence, RI. He was a graduate of New Hampton Prep, attended the University of Miami and graduated from Nasson College. He served in the U.S. Army 108th Military Intelligence.
Henry served as mayor of the village of Fayetteville from 1996 to 2004. Previous to that he served as Fayetteville village trustee from 1985 to 1996 and was a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals for two years prior. Henry also served as chairman of the Town of Manlius Zoning Board of Appeals.
He was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville and, in 2019, he and his wife, Donna, were the recipients of the Immaculata Award. He enjoyed golf, numismatics and especially enjoyed the time he spent with family and his dog, Biscuit.
Henry was a member of the Syracuse Postal Council, Tips Club of Syracuse, BOCES Board and the Greater Manlius Chamber of Commerce. He was a member and former president of the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce and the Fayetteville Lions Club; and a former member and president of the Syracuse Executives Club. Henry was Laird of Clan McIntosh of New England.
Henry was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Donna Deroski McIntosh in February 2021; his parents, Wilfred Grant and Thelma McIntosh; his brother Grant McIntosh; and his dog, Cooper.
He is survived by his sons, Scott McIntosh of Los Angeles, CA, and Todd and Marni-Jo McIntosh of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Jana and Logan McIntosh; nieces, Tammy and Cathy; and beloved Biscuit.
Friends and family called from 9-10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville. A memorial mass followed at 10 a.m. at the church. The funeral Mass could also be accessed through a LiveStream broadcast accessible at icfayetteville.org/funerals. Henry’s family kindly requested that masks be worn.
Burial was in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Fayetteville.
