Virginia M. Salmon, 83, of Sherrill, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Oneida Healthcare Center-Extended Care Facility. She was born Sept. 30, 1936, in Sullivan to Fredrick and Lulu DuBois and was a graduate of Chittenango High School in 1954. Virginia had been employed as an assembler and quality control inspector with Marquart Switches, Tronser Inc. and was also employed as a cashier at Tops Friendly Market in Cazenovia. Virginia was a member of CAVAC and volunteered her time as a dispatcher and ambulance driver. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting items which she donated to pediatric and nursing home residents.
Virginia is survived by her son, Fred (Elaine) Salmon of Hagerstown, MD; two sisters, Jessie Hollenbeck of Oneida and Debra (William) Miller of Chittenango; two grandchildren, Patricia Hamlin of Jamesville and Edward (KC Frink) Salmon of Plattsburgh; four great-grandchildren, Lucas, Brady, Mekael and Amari. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Chester in 2005 and by her brothers, Adorf and Cecil DuBois.
Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2020, with a funeral service to follow at Michael E. Brown Funeral Services, 2333 Fenner Road in Cazenovia.
