Carol M. B. Reynolds, 64, of North Syracuse, was graduated from this life to the eternal presence of our Lord Jesus Christ and glories beyond this world of cares on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Francis House.
A native of Canton, N.Y., Carol was predeceased by her father, Mr. Robert H. Barton of Houston, TX, in 2002; her mother, Mrs. Patricia R. (Wood) Barton of Fayetteville, in 2009; an aunt, Joan Barton of Dumont, NJ; her father’s widow, Helen B. Barton of Scotland, UK; her father- and mother-in-law, Norris and Aleta Reynolds and brother-in-law, Robert Reynolds of Florida.
Carol was graduated from St. Margaret’s Church of England Girls’ School, Brisbane, Australia and earned an AA degree at Florida State University. Carol was awarded a BSc in Physical Therapy degree with honors from SUNY Upstate Medical Center in 1977. She worked as a physical therapist at West Seneca Developmental Center and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, before becoming the mother of four children – her favorite calling in life – and home-educator for elementary to junior high level. Later, Carol was employed by Pemberton Associates Division, CANI PT & OT for 21 years, providing school-based therapy and home-based early intervention services throughout Oswego County. She provided therapy services for North Syracuse Main Street School Early Education Center (summer of 2000). Carol was a clinical instructor for multiple institutions.
She was a past member of Life Church (formerly Church of the Resurrection) East Syracuse, serving for three decades in the nursery and children’s ministry programs – coordinating, supervising, leading and teaching.
Carol is survived by her husband, John K. Reynolds, married 41 years ago at Erwin First United Methodist Church, Syracuse; four children, Daniel Reynolds of Albany, Nathan Reynolds of Baltimore, MD, Joseph (Shannon) Reynolds of Decatur, GA and Aileen (Paul) Wood of Clay; four grandchildren, Ansley and Grant Reynolds and Ariana and Silas Wood; a brother, Paul Barton of Cazenovia; a sister, Leslie Barton of Fayetteville; two nephews, Todd (Heather) Barton of Rochester and Ross Barton of Cazenovia; several second cousins; a sister-in-law, Gail Evans of Florida and a brother-in-law, Paul Reynolds of Connecticut.
Carol’s family greatly appreciates the excellent, compassionate care given her by the Sisters of Saint Francis, their staff and volunteers at Francis House.
Friends and relatives may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 13, at Fergerson Funeral Home, 215 S. Main St., North Syracuse. A service to celebrate Carol’s life and blessed hope of the resurrection is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Journey (formerly Trinity) United Methodist Church, 8396 Morgan Road, Clay, and preceding interment at North Syracuse Cemetery.
