TOWN OF MANLIUS – A proposal to convert the former Eastern Hills Bible Church at 4600 Enders Road to 18 apartments will come before the public on May 8.
On Monday, representatives of the Icon Companies presented the Manlius Planning Board with amended plans for the site of the 15,000 square foot building which included reducing the amount of pavement, additional sidewalks, a pickleball court and other landscaping improvements.
Plans call for 15 one-bedroom apartments and 3 two-bedroom apartments targeting empty nesters in the area that want to downsize. Two of the units would be handicapped accessible. There is also an existing office space in the building that would be available for lease.
Rents for the apartments would be market rate, and the Icon Companies President Grazi Zazzara estimated they would be between $1,200 and $1,700.
At a public hearing in January regarding the zone change on the parcel, two people spoke in favor of the proposal and the town clerk reported the town had received 15 pieces of correspondence in favor and one in opposition.
