Minoa rejects marijuana, renews incumbent terms

Earlier this election week, Minoa residents voted in the Village’s unopposed incumbents and rejected the sale of marijuana.

Trustees Bobby Schepp and John Champagne will continue on the village board, and Janet Stanley will stay in as justice. Schepp received 210 votes, Champagne received 190 and Stanley received 215.

Concerning the allowance of retail cannabis dispensaries, the first proposition on the ballot brought in 86 “yes” votes and 163 for “no.”

For the second proposition, which asked whether the Village should permit on-site cannabis consumption establishments, more than double the number of noes (186) rolled in as yeses (62).
