TOWN OF DEWITT – DeWitt Democrats will select three candidates for town board positions at a caucus on April 18 at 2:30 p.m. The caucus will take place outside of DeWitt Town Hall under the pavilion in Ryder Park. Any registered Democrat living in the town of DeWitt is invited to attend.
There are currently four candidates for three town board nominations. Incumbents Jack Dooling and Joe Chiarenza have each served two terms. They will be vying with Sarah Klee Hood and Max Ruckdeschel for the three nominations.
Even if Klee Hood or Ruckdeschel fail to win the Democratic nod, they will both be on the ballot in November on the Working Families Party line.
Town board member Sam Young will be leaving the board at the end of this year and will be running for town judge. At this point, Supervisor Ed Michalenko and Town Clerk Angela Eppolito are running unopposed for the Democratic nominations for their respective positions.
The Republican slate in DeWitt includes three candidates for town board, Richard G. Kunz, Bernard Ment and Daniel J. Carroll. Margaret M. Driscoll is running for town judge and incumbent Rocco P. Conte is running for highway superintendent.
