LIVERPOOL — During the month of March, the Greater Liverpool Chamber of Commerce logged over 700 votes from the Liverpool community to choose their favorite business to be featured by the chamber. Since March is Women’s History Month, 12 women-owned businesses were nominated.
The Business of the Month for April is Golden Bee Bookshop. Established in November 2019, Golden Bee Bookshop carries a thoughtfully curated collection of books in a whimsical and welcoming setting.
The Golden Bee Bookshop is located in the Village Mall at 305 Vine St., Suite 2, in Liverpool. For more information, visit goldenbeebookshop.com or call 315-216-7588.
The Golden Bee Bookshop was dreamed up by writer and lifelong book-lover Casey Rose Frank. She grew up in North Syracuse, attended Niagara University, and lived in Chicago and New York City before coming back upstate to settle in Liverpool.
“We carry primarily fiction titles, with a small collection of nonfiction which is primarily devoted to reading for Black Lives Matter and mental health and feminist memoirs,” reads the description on Golden Bee’s website.
The Golden Bee Bookshop also features candles, bookmarks and other items all crafted by independent creators and retailers.
Frank loves recommending books and has read at least 50 percent of the titles available for purchase in the shop. She hand-picks the bookish merchandise at Golden Bee, showcasing the talents of creators she met through the “Bookstagram” community on Instagram.
She runs the business with the help of her husband, Rob Ringham, and her cat, Mia, who likes to help put in book orders from the comfort of the couch.
Voting has already started for the next Business of the Month. Since April is Volunteer Appreciation Month, the chamber’s ARM (Ambassadors/Recognition/Membership) team has nominated the following not-for-profit chamber members:
