Making the transition from dependent teen living at home to independent young adult isn’t an easy one.
There’s even a relatively new term to describe the process: “adulting.” One of the first steps in adulting is to think about career options. While attending college and pursuing a degree in a chosen field is often a popular choice, other opportunities abound.
On Wednesday, July 25, a group of women from the WISE Women’s Business Center will host a Career Day from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Northern Onondaga Public Library (NOPL) at Cicero to discuss entrepreneurial opportunities with recent grads and out-of-school adults exploring business ownership.
Joanne Lenweaver, director of the WISE Women’s Business Center, will lead the discussion. She will be joined by other board members and clients of the center who speak on topics such as home businesses, local networking, time management, family time and the benefits of using the WISE Women’s Business Center for business planning and financial assessment.
During the question and answer session that will follow the panel discussion, participants will have an opportunity to learn from these women firsthand how they took certain chances, pushed through challenges and undesirable results, and achieved positive outcomes
If you are a young adult, recent grad, or otherwise interested in beginning a new chapter in your life by starting your own business, you are invited to attend this special event.
