Three Cazenovia High School students have received scholarships to help support their education in manufacturing-based careers. Justin Streeter, Ryan Marshall and Vincent Paglia each received $1,600 PRIME SME scholarships from the SME Education Foundation.
The SME Education Foundation’s mission is to help create a manufacturing education pathway that allows young people to compete in a 21st century global economy. The foundation has provided more than $33 million since 1980 in grants, scholarships and awards in the U.S. and Canada and supported student outreach programs through its partnerships with corporations, foundations, organizations and individual donors.
Streeter will attend the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) to study mechanical engineering technology. He is in NHS, Tri-M, Chamber Choir and works in the community at a local grocery store.
Marshall is pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University. Throughout high school he played football as well as ran varsity track, and is part of the Cazenovia Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band.
Paglia plans to study engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in the fall. He has played soccer and hockey in high school and is also a member of the Tech Club and National Honor Society. He received the Rensselaer Medalist Award for outstanding achievement in math and science in 2016 and was also a Scholar-Athlete by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association while playing soccer and hockey.
