Junior Lauren Gee named NSCAA Division III College Player of the Week
Cazenovia College junior goalkeeper Lauren Gee (Seneca Falls) was named the NCAA Division III NSCAA Player of the Week recently. Gee was recognized as the top NCAA Division III performer nationally for her on field performance during the week of Oct. 4 through Oct. 9. This marks the first time in program history that a Cazenovia College women’s soccer player has been recognized nationally as an NSCAA Player of the Week.
Gee helped lead her Cazenovia College Wildcats to a pair of shutout wins on the week, holding strong in goal for 270 minutes and recording 29 saves for the week. The junior goalkeeper kept the Wildcats in the game with 20 saves before falling to SUNY ESF in a heartbreaking 1-0 loss early in the week. She then went on to record two saves in Cazenovia’s 3-0 blanking of Bryn Athyn College before going on to stop seven shots in a 1-0 win over Penn State Abington.
Currently, she ranks fifth nationally in goalie minutes played and 21st in total saves with 110. Gee’s .815 save percentage ranks her third in the North Eastern Athletic Conference this season.
