Dino-vember | November 1 – 30 | Dinos are loose in the library and we need your help! All month long, paper dinosaurs will be hiding in the pages of new books in the children’s room. If you find a hidden dinosaur, exchange it at the front desk for a mini foam dinosaur you can bring home, color, and build.

Sign Language for Young Learners | Saturday, November 9 from 9:15 – 10:15 AM | Looking for ways to communicate with your nonverbal child? Come to the library to learn sign language for babies and other young children. Ms. Mary Beth and our American Sign Language (ASL) expert, Ms. Mary Ellen, will lead a 30 minute story time where children and caregivers will learn sign language and how to implement signs into their communication. Stay after for play time and the chance to ask Ms. Mary Ellen any questions about ASL. For babies – nonverbal 5 year olds with a caregiver.

Sensory Exploration: Dinosaurs | Monday, November 11 at 10:30 AM | Drop-in for a variety of sensory boxes that encourage children to explore and learn through hands-on tactile play. Stay in Your Home: Aging in Place Solutions | Tuesday, November 12 at 10:00 AM | Join McClurg Remodeling for a seminar focused on practical ways to stay in your home as you age. Learn about simple modifications you can do yourself and when it’s best to consult a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS). Voices for Equity | Tuesday, November 19 at 6:30 PM | Join us for a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring local women as they share their personal experiences with gender discrimination in the workplace, education, and society. Our panelists will discuss strategies they’ve used to overcome obstacles, break through the glass ceiling, and foster more equitable and inclusive environments. Together, we’ll envision a future where everyone can thrive, regardless of gender.

Guitar Concert: Tom Torrisi | Saturday, November 23 at 7:30 PM | Tom Torrisi is a classical guitarist, composer, and arranger currently working and residing in Buffalo, NY. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the Eastman School of Music. Active as both soloist and chamber musician, Tom has been heard performing throughout the United States and in the UK and has been featured on WNED, WXXI, WRUR, and BBC radio.
