MARCELLUS — A Marcellus Central School District senior has been named a Commended Student in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Lukas Grieb earned the honor, and received a certificate from Principal John Durkee.
“I’m very excited and proud,” Grieb said. “It’s a nice recognition.”
About 34,000 students nationwide are recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2023 competition by taking the 2021 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
“We’re so proud of Lukas,” Durkee said. “Lukas’ hard work and dedication to his studies has led to this achievement. I have no doubts Lukas has a bright future ahead.”
