The Town of DeWitt Police Department has reported that a traffic stop lead to the arrest of East Syracuse resident Andrew H. Warner, 40, for manufacturing methamphetamine. Warner was previously charged with this crime on Feb. 12, 2015.
At about 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, DeWitt police officers said they conducted a traffic stop in the Franklin Park area after Warner passed a stop sign. Police report they located a large amount of controlled substances in the car.
Warner was charged with passing a stop sign and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree. Police say he was found in possession of methamphetamines and heroin and was additionally charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (a class B felony), fourth degree (class C felony) and seventh degree (class A misdemeanor).
A passenger, Brande A. Mothersell, 40, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (a class B felony), fourth degree (class C felony) and seventh degree(class A misdemeanor).
DeWitt police said they executed a search warrant at Warner’s residence, 304 ½ Washburn Drive and were assisted by the New York State Police Hazardous Material Clandestine Lab Team, where equipment and chemicals used for manufacturing methamphetamine were found.
Warner was then additionally charged with unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine third degree, a class D felony.
Police say Warner was arraigned in the Town of DeWitt Court by the Hon. David Gideon and order held on $31,000 cash/$51,000 bond. He is to return to the DeWitt court on Monday, March 16.
Warner had previously been arrested by the DeWitt police on Feb. 12 for having a methamphetamine lab and possession of drugs at his 304 ½ Washburn Drive address.
According to police arrest records, Warner had also been arrested on Feb. 8 and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment in the second degree, and on Feb. 19 and charged with assault in the third degree.
Mothersell was arraigned in the Town of DeWitt Court by the Hon. David Gideon and order held on $2,500 cash/$2,500 bond, according to police. Mothersell will also return to the DeWitt court on Monday, March 16.
