New York State Police arrested and charged Kevin Q. Hobbs Sr., 36 of Newark, with fourth degree criminal possession of marijuana, second degree aggravated unlicensed operation and traffic infractions.
Just after 5 p.m. April 24, Hobbs’ gray GMC Envoy passed by a state trooper who was on foot at the toll plaza of I-90 in the town of Van Buren. The trooper could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the Envoy. Hobbs Sr. was then instructed to pull over.
A license check showed that Hobbs had multiple suspensions on his NYS driver’s license and the subsequent investigation revealed that he was in possession of more than four ounces of marijuana.
