PAC-B TV’s Norma Goodman interviewed Village Engineer Steve D’Arcangelo on April 26 regarding a Green Mountain Sugar Maple tree the village planted in recognition of Arbor Day.
Forester John Graham of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, also presented the village with a banner naming Baldwinsville A Tree City USA, a distinction the village has carried for 26 consecutive years.
“The Tree City program recognizes communities that have a commitment to trees,” Graham said.
The newly planted sugar maple replaced an older tree that had to be removed due to disease.
“We like the idea that our village stays green,” Trustee Dick Clarke said of the village’s dedication to keeping its trees healthy and plentiful.
